There Are Lots of Great Benefits to Being YES On-Site Employee
When I first got the call that decided my fate of becoming an on-site, the only thought that came to my mind was, “It’s time to take on a new challenge.” But I never imagined all the challenges that would come along with this job! I had to learn a whole new work terminology as well as become familiar with sanitary gowning procedures and the consequences of an actual audit finding.
Working on-site with our client and going through some of the troubles we faced as a team (or the ones I faced myself) can seriously test your patience or even push you to your absolute limit. What I learned is how you can take that negative and turn it into a positive. Even when you know some days aren’t going well, you just can’t let it get to you, or else you are going to hate coming to work.
Each week has something memorable while working as a YES on-site. When I am creating a ID badge for a new employee, you can see the excitement that they are getting an opportunity to work for an amazing company. They know there is an opportunity for growth as well as great benefits they will receive after getting hired on permanent. Our client gave hoodies out to all the employees including the YES employees as a Christmas gift and the look on the people faces to receive that hoodie was priceless, they felt appreciated and they were happy to be working for great company!
Why Work With YES?
Going back to YES, we’re a staffing agency that stands out when compared to other agencies because of the way we do business. YES is a company that strives to help the people that need it most. We make sure to take the time to find you the right job, not just for you but for our client as well, to create that perfect match.
Working for YES has been one of the best experiences I’ve encountered because I witnessed an account begin from almost nothing and watch it grow to where it is at now. I got to witness how YES values its customers by trying to find out every little detail to build a partnership.
I can finally say I do love this job and it was the best decision I ever made by joining the YES team!
The Utah Department of Work Force Services releases data on current jobs and unemployment for the state on a monthly basis. You cab watch their most recent video below for a detailed update (released in May) of April’s employment data.
The state of Utah currently has maintained a 3.1% unemployment rate ranking below the 4.4% national average.
We’ve also seen a 3.3% job growth (compared to April of 2016) rate last month compared to the 1.4% national growth rate.
“Last month Utah ranked first for both total job growth and private sector job growth,” says Carrie Mayne, Chief Economist at the Department of Workforce Services. “We know that we’re one of the strongest economies in the nation.”
How Utah Employment Numbers Affect Staffing
Haylee Sorenson, an account manager at our Ogden, Utah staffing office had this to say about the latest job report:
“The current unemployment rate has it’s positives and negatives. The positive is that there are plenty of jobs available to current job seekers. The negative is that there’s not enough people to effectively fill these open job positions. I think that is where it affects the staffing work that we do.
We here at YES always want to deliver the right people, on time, the first time. It is taking a little longer to accomplish that goal of ours. We are still seeing people come through our door everyday but they may not be qualified for positions we have or simply may not be interested. We are having to get a little more creative with our outreach and we have to act fast when we find the right person for the job. We don’t want to just send a warm body, we want to send the right one.”
Our mission at Your Employment Solutions is to match the right person with the right Utah job every time. That puts right smack dab in the people business. That said, we truly appreciate and care about the people we get to meet and work with on a daily basis. We wouldn’t have been voted one of the best places to work in Utah two years in a row if not for our hard-working and incredible co-workers and employees!

YES Employees are the Best Staffing People in Utah!
May is a month that resembles spring here in the Northern Hemisphere. Springtime brings about change and growth in ourselves and our surroundings. Our May employee spotlight, Jordyn Poll, is someone who exhibits those traits very well!
Thank You Jordyn Poll | YES May Employee Spotlight
Jordyn has held a variety of positions during her time with us here at YES, and we find great value in her adaptability and eagerness for learning and personal development. Her growth in the last couple of years has been so great to watch and be apart of. We are so grateful for her flexibility and that her desire for development reaches far beyond herself, too, as she helps our company continually grow as well.
We asked Jordyn to answer 11 questions about work and life. Here’s what she had to say:
1. Five things you enjoy.
One Tree Hill, summer, chocolate chip cookies, accounting, and lipstick; oh and my husband too.
2. Three things you don’t.
Closed toed shoes, spiders, and mornings.
3. What do you like most about working at YES?
I like building relationships with people. I also really like knowing that by helping people find jobs that it helps them provide for their families.
4. What do you think would make YES better?
I think YES is pretty awesome, but I am not a morning person, so I would have to say work not starting until at least 9 am.
5. If you could meet anyone, who?
Tim McGraw because he’s hot and I love his music.
6. Your favorite place in the world.
Definitely Toronto, Canada. I think YES should open an office up there so it gives me an excuse to live there for the rest of forever.
7. What kind of cows make chocolate milk, which ones make strawberry milk, and which ones make almond milk? Well, chocolate milk comes from brown cows and strawberry milk comes from pink cows, but I’m not too sure about almond milk…
8. What is the number one challenge you face in your job?
Not getting frustrated when people don’t show up for work or don’t take the job very seriously.
9. What do you think is the best way to meet that challenge?
I think doing a better job at helping them realize why their specific job is important and that they are needed just as badly as everyone else will help. If people feel important and wanted I think they will take the job more seriously.
10. What would you tell someone looking into working with YES?
We will do everything that we can to make sure you get the best job available for you, but it’s up to you to make the most out of it.
11. We hear you won a national championship in high school with your cheerleading team. Who would make the better cheerleader on your team, and who would have been cut, the President of YES Reed Laws or YES’ CFO Kerry Westenskow? Why?
I heard that Reed used to be a gymnast, so I’d have to go with Reed. Besides, I think Kerry is a bit too quiet to be a cheerleader. I’d like to see both of them with bows in their hair though!
Thank you for all that you do here at YES, Jordyn. You’re amazing!
My daughter recently received her learners driving permit and like every other 15-year-old teenager, has an entire year to complete the required hours of practice before claiming the ultimate teenage reward: A legal, freshly minted, see you later mom and dad, driver’s license. Let me articulate what has and will continue to happen before that almighty, glamour shot, invincible day happens.
First, it was a slow drive around the neighborhood teaching the importance of being a safe, defensive driver. Sure, she put the left blinker on when she was turning right, or the windshield wipers turned on when she was looking for park, which is why we started on a slow neighborhood drive. The damage of a mistake would be small.
On our next outing, we raised the bar a bit, and my heart rate raised with it. It was our first outing out of the neighborhood. As she increased the speeds to 35 miles per hour, few minor mistakes were made; shifting from one lane to another or stopping in the middle of the intersection during a green light.
Braving the inevitable we ventured to the freeway, our speed was now approaching 65 MPH. I had some confidence in her driving but deep down I was terrified and may or may not have peed a little when merging into traffic.
As evidenced by the fact that this article was written, we did make it home safely.
Perfecting Staffing Is a Daily Practice
Staffing perfected is analogous to my daughters driving story less the terror. With time and practice you become better, more confident and closer to perfection. Much like my daughter, practice makes you more effective but doesn’t guarantee that an “accident” won’t occur.
A staffing agency can perfectly follow processes and protocols and still have an undesired outcome. Some examples might be, on-boarding an employee that doesn’t show or a client forgetting to inform the staffing agency of a myriad of possible changes.
A Perfect Staffing Company
Staffing Perfected isn’t about being perfect or expecting the outcome to be perfect, it’s about perfecting what’s given to you and then doing it again tomorrow.
The Utah Department of Work Force Services regularly releases current jobs and unemployment numbers for the state. Watch their most recent video below for a detailed update (released in April) of March’s employment data.
The state of Utah currently has maintained a 3.1% unemployment rate ranking below the 4.5% national average.
We’ve also seen a 3.2% job growth (compared to March of 2016) rate last month compared to the 1.5% national growth rate.
“People looking for work will likely have a good chance of finding work,” says Carrie Mayne, Chief Economist at the Department of Workforce Services. “Employers are adding jobs here in our economy.”
How Utah Employment Numbers Affect Staffing
Irvin Lopez, an account manager at one of our Salt Lake City, Utah staffing offices had this to say about the latest job report:
“With the unemployment rate in Utah being 3.1 percent. The manufacturing industry is creating many jobs. Here at YES our main focus is in that particular industry which makes us a great place to find a job.”
Jordyn Arnold, an account manager at our Logan, Utah office added, “With a job growth rate of 3.2 percent, the state of Utah is a great place to be looking for work. We shouldn’t limit ourselves or our abilities. For people who are unhappy in their current jobs, don’t be afraid to look for new opportunities. With numerous possibilities, now is the time to find something that you are happy doing. YES is here to help with that transition. We enjoy being able to offer a wide range of positions with varying skill-sets, leaving an option for everyone. ”
