Twenty Years Ago in the City of North Salt Lake…
In 1995 Utah-based Bailey’s Moving and Storage created an in-house staffing agency to absorb their risk of hiring new employees during the company’s busy season. They named this new employment company Your Employment Solutions.
And twenty years later, YES is still here, stronger than ever, helping put people to work, connecting jobseekers and businesses, and filling some great Utah jobs!

Bloomberg reports 8 out of 10 businesses fail within the first 18 months. But, as mentioned, after 20 years, YES is still going strong.
We’ve beat the odds, risen to the top in the Utah Staffing industry and made work happen for tens of thousands of Utahns during the last two decades.
What makes YES different?
What has allowed YES to survive where other companies have failed?
A lot of reasons. Too many to list here, really.
But Reed Laws, the president of YES, sums it up like this:
“Three intangibles that sets Your Employment Solutions apart are:
- Transparency with our clients.
- Customizing our processes for each client, and…
- Our ability to quickly adapt to our client’s desires.
It’s what makes us different, and what sets the stage for YES to be successful.”
We’ll be celebrating the this important milestone all year. So to start, I asked a few of my co-workers to share their thoughts on what YES turning 20 means to them.
20 Years of Making Work Happen in Utah!
“20 years of blood, sweat, and tears by our owners have taken us from unknown with an uncertain path to a well-known standard for the staffing industry.” – Logan Laws, Lead Account Manager | Salt Lake Office
“THIS IS HUGE! It shows that with a lot of hard work and a surplus of excellent customer service. Companies that live this long have proven they know how to build lasting relationships with key customers and build on that foundation for future growth. Not only have we survived for 20 years, we’ve thrived. We’ve dominated the small business world and are knocking on the doorstep of becoming a large employer. And we couldn’t have made it this far without amazing employees to help support us and work with us to build such and amazing company.” – Jarum Stone, Safety Manager
“Some might say that a business is beating the odds when it survives more than 5 years. When you have a business lead by a group of people like those at YES, the odds don’t apply to you. I have no doubt that this company will continue to grow for the next 20 years and beyond.” – Trevor Hansen, Finance Manager
“It’s been said that only 50% of new businesses succeed through year 5, and that 80% of small businesses eventually crash and burn. YES is definitely not one of them! We have 20 years of continual improvement and steady growth to prove otherwise. I believe 20 years is a HUGE landmark for us, or any business, and we’re excited to celebrate our successes with those who have kept us in business.” – Alison Evans, Human Resource Manager
“I am pretty glad that YES has been around for 20 years. First of all it has become an awesome company to work for and has helped numerous people find a job that they like. YES continues to offer a great product that has only gotten better with time, and the fact that they are turning 20 proves that.” – Chase Nielson, Branch Manager | Logan Office
“Such a big deal. Most small businesses fail within the first few years. Knowing personally who started YES and what type of leadership our company has. I don’t see why we can’t keep growing for another 20+ years.” – Brigham Yates, Director of Client Relations
“It shows what kind of business that we are. It takes a lot to get a company up and running, but to keep it in going strong for 20 years I believe shows that YES is a organization founded on high morals, values and ethics. And if we keep going this way, you can talk to me again in another 20 years because we’ll definitely be around.” – Andrea Posell, Branch Manager | Ogden Office
“When I think back on 20 years of YES, I think how grateful I am that we are still here after such a long period of time considering the management and ownership. We have the best employees that have helped push this company forward to make it work and to make us what we are today.” – Kerry Westenskow, Vice President
“To me it shows the company’s relationship strength both internally and externally. Top that off with financial stability says, ‘Here’s to another 20.’” – Reed Laws, President
Absolutely.
Cheers to another 20 years at YES!
