WCF recently recognized Your Employment Solutions (YES) COO Jarum Stone with the prestigious Safety Hero award! Jarum’s proactive approach to workplace safety and his dedication to the employees he serves have long set him apart as a safety superstar. He has been instrumental in educating YES clients and employees alike in best practices for optimal workplace safety.
According to WCF, the Safety Hero award provides employers and community leaders the opportunity to create and promote awareness regarding the importance of workplace safety. This award looks to acknowledge and recognize the safety and health contributions, participation, and impact that a front-line employee plays in the workplace.
The award is based on contributions in one or more of the following areas:
- Safety and Health Leadership – Leadership in advocacy of worker safety and health initiatives that are beyond the traditional scope of one’s position.
- Innovation in Safety and Health – Development of innovative practices and procedures that reduce occupational hazards or risk.
- Promotion of Teamwork – Encouragement of team safety awareness, communications, and advocacy of safe and healthy workplace.
- Hazard Identification and Correction – Encouragement of improved safety self-audits, incident reporting, and other practices that lead to hazard reduction.
Jarum has been very involved overseeing the safety of several thousand employees hired by YES on a yearly basis. “Being the safety leader for an employment agency has some unique challenges,” says YES President Reed Laws. “Mainly that we cannot control the environment where our employees work on a daily basis, but Jarum has found some unique ways of partnering with our clients to ensure they are on the same page as YES regarding safety.”
Over a period spanning many years, Jarum has helped YES significantly reduce loss ratios which has resulted in fewer severe injuries to employees.

Jarum’s success can attributed to his diligent communication with claims adjusters, injured employees and safety managers at each of YES’s clients in order to prevent injuries as well as to get injured employees treated properly and back to work as quick as possible.
