Helping Deliver the Right People to the Right Jobs
I am relatively new to the world of staffing. I’ve been an account manager and recruiter now for five months and I have enjoyed the ups and downs that come with the job. As an account manager and recruiter, I’ve met many people and I have been able to find jobs for a lot of them. It’s a very rewarding feeling to place someone in a job and to later find out that they are happy in their position.
It has been a tough transition from wanting to please everyone by placing someone in a job and just hoping that everything works out, to qualifying them for a job. To qualify someone for a job, you have to look at their past work experience and their attitude. You must also judge the situation and consider the details of the job.
Our Staffing Mission
The mission statement here at YES is “Deliver the right people, on time, the first time.” How do you know if you have the right people? Ask the managers on site to see what trends they’ve been seeing. What are their pain points and what really helps them create a friendly, cohesive work environment? Then, look for people you think would build up that department, company, and culture.
I am the on-site manager for one of our oldest clients. This client makes sprinkler products and has over a dozen departments. Each department comes with different needs and requires different people with a variety of skill sets. One department in particular is a plastic injection molding department that creates most of the plastic sprinkler parts for their product lines. This job requires someone willing to run a variety of different machines that produce different parts with different specs. To qualify to be a machine operator you must be alert, have attention to detail to verify the quality of the parts your machine is producing, and have the ability to multitask by running multiple machines.
Helping Good People Find Employment
I have had many great experiences in staffing, but one in particular stands out to me. I was assigned to find a machine operator for our client’s molding department. One of the candidates I interviewed was a gentleman who had no experience in this field and could speak very little English. However, after getting to know him I realized he had a great attitude, strong work ethic, and the desire to work! We placed him as a machine operator back in December and he is still working there.
By all reports, he is very happy in his position and has not missed a single day of work. A few months later we were also able to place his wife in a production position as well. He and his wife now have steady jobs that allow them to both work on alternate shifts and provide for their family. This is just one of many experiences that has broken the stigma of what people think temp agencies are, and has helped affirm what Your Employment Solutions stands for as a staffing agency.
Your Employment Solutions has won “Utah’s best company to work for” three of the last four years. The people who work at YES are truly amazing and the people we employ and place are equally amazing. I am grateful to work for a company that continues to help me grow as a person and as an employee.
