Most Recent Employment Numbers in Utah

The Utah Department of Work Force Services releases data on current jobs and unemployment for the state on a monthly basis. You can watch their most recent video below for a detailed update of the most recent employment data.

The state of Utah currently has a 3.4% unemployment rate ranking below the 4.4% national average.

We’ve also seen a 3.4% job growth (compared to June of 2016) rate last month compared to the 1.5% national growth rate.

“Employers are expressing a need for skilled workers to fill jobs at all different levels,” says Carrie Mayne, Chief Economist at the Department of Workforce Services. “Now is the time to take your career to the next level.”

Derek Daley, an account manager at our North Salt Lake, Utah staffing office had this to say about the latest job report:

“The opportunity of employment in Utah right now is great and even greater for skilled workers.  Not only is it an awesome time to get started with an entry level position, but there is great opportunity for advancements and promotions within many companies.  We are in the business of finding people jobs, so we are a driving factor in getting those who are unemployed back in the workforce.”

Thanks for the input Derek!
