Most Recent Employment Numbers in Utah
The Utah Department of Work Force Services releases data on current jobs and unemployment for the state on a monthly basis. Below is the latest video detailing the most recent employment data.
The state of Utah ticked up to a 3.1% unemployment rate ranking below the 3.9% national average.
Utah also had 3.9% job growth (compared to July of 2017) rate against the 1.6% national growth rate.
“Utah experienced yet another month of significant growth in the job market,” says Carrie Mayne, Chief Economist at the Department of Workforce Services. “The state added the highest number of jobs year-over for 2018 while maintaining a notably low unemployment rate.”
How Utah Employment Numbers Affect Staffing
Aime Lopex, an account manager in our North Salt Lake, Utah staffing office had this to say about the latest job report:
“The job numbers show us that right now there are more jobs than people looking for work. That means we have a lot of competition out there. With that being said it is very important for us to reach out to job seekers quickly with the best job opportunities.”
Thanks for the input Aime!
