As 2020 comes to an end and we reflect on our first year of this new decade, we look back on the year’s experiences and begin to plan for another big year of business adventures. Before we push through the holiday season and begin the new year, we want to take some time to highlight some amazing staff members who have more than exceeded our expectations this past year!
Awards of Excellence
At our annual Christmas party, we awarded six very well-deserved YES employees for their efforts throughout the year.
Most Positive Reviews | Carlos Gomes
Carlos Gomes is our #1 contributor to our company’s positive reviews! He sends the most online rating requests and regularly receives the most positive responses for our staffing agency from our guests. He truly drives our brand and how the public views our company and we are extremely grateful for his efforts and how amazing of a recruiter he is!
Here at YES, ratings are a valuable tool to help us inform the public of our range of services whether they are in the market for a job or in the market for an agency to support their company’s hiring needs. We rely on our ratings to help us advertise and show the community how much care we take during the application and onboarding processes and how we treat our guests and employees. Thank you, Carlos, for driving our company image and for being an all-around positive person!
Most Legally Compliant | Alicia Feliciano
Alicia Feliciano was our most legally compliant staffing recruiter and account manager of 2020! YES relies on employees like Alicia to ensure we’re complying with local and federal laws and regulations, but also to ensure we’re complying with our clients’ requests and requirements. Our Human Resource department regularly audits each office’s legal tasks such as E-Verify and background check compliance.
Alicia completed the most applications and onboarding requirements with the least amount of follow up from HR during 2020. This means she did not have many issues with her onboarding requirements requiring further attention! She handled all her duties in a timely matter and complied with all regulations and client requirements as stated under each contract. She truly is an example of working smarter and not harder by handling things as they arise and not waiting for a later time to catch up. She is a great example of legal compliance, organization, and great time management!
Most Improved Employee | Edgar Derce Molinares
Edgar Derce Molinares was voted our Most Improved Employee of the Year by his peers. Being the Most Improved is no easy feat! Most people live their lives day in and day out in mostly the same way as the day before and only change in very small ways over the course of time. Edgar took on a new role this year and in a way was forced to improve in order to maintain his new role as Branch Manager of our West Jordan office, but he took it to a whole new level and has impressed all of us here at YES!
Some of the votes for Edgar came in with comments that include, “Edgar is an awesome guy and always does his best to improve in whatever he does” and “Edgar went from Recruiter to Manager and is doing amazing. He holds the record for most jobs filled in one week and is amazing with people. He likes to learn new YES polices and is always willing to learn more and more. He is eager to do the best he can for YES and support the YES brand. He also believes in YES and it shows. He is going to learn more for YES and the HR world and his drive and energy to do so shows well. He will go far with YES.” I couldn’t have said it any better. What a great example to our staff for the value in self-reflection, hard work and commitment, and improving yourself for the greater good of those you serve.
Best Customer Service | Maria Orozco
Maria Orozco was voted on by her peers and received the 2020 YES Best Customer Service award, and rightfully so! Maria is currently an HR Assistant that processes payroll and assists in many other HR duties and is a huge asset to that office and our company.
Her peers included comments such as, “Maria is amazing to work with. She is always willing to help and is super sweet” “She has taken over more payroll and is so patient with people and is just awesome” and “Maria is just the best! She is a super powerful girl. She always answers the phone, not only that, she solves everything. I just love her customer service” What amazing attributes Maria has that YES is truly grateful to be able to utilize to make our company better!
Manager of the Year | Kenneth Lane
Kenneth Lane was voted on by his peers (other managers) as the Manager of the Year and won this vote by a landslide! Kenneth is currently our On-Site Manager at a new account that has quickly moved into the ranks of one of our largest accounts in Utah. Kenneth worked hard to open this new account and has grown his on-site team and our workforce to around 200 employees. He has done a great job at keeping the team motivated and organized during such a hectic year.
His peers also included statements in their votes that include, “Kenny has taken his new role and ran with it. He has become an asset and I don’t think our client would be the size it is today if it weren’t for him. I look forward to seeing what other roles he will be able to fill in the future”, “He’s helped take a customer from $0 to our LARGEST customer in just 8 months!” and “Kenny is the man – he has went from one large client to another in less than 1 year. He is the ideal advocate for YES and supports our processes and brand. Kenny has learned a lot from our leaders and it has shown. He is customer service to the client and to the YES staff. He has always been there for our YES clients and is always open to bad customer services reviews as well as good customer service reviews. Kenny keeps pushing to learn and improve. Love this guy!” Thank you for being such a great role model for all our managers and staff, Kenneth!
Employee of the Year | Stephanie Harpster
This year’s Employee of the Year won the vote among our staff, but even more so conducted a lot her role outside of the staff’s view which should also be recognized! Stephanie Harpster is currently an HR Assistant who is taking the lead in Payroll and won the vote for the 2020 Employee of the Year with comments such as, “Always has a great attitude and makes awesome things happen in crunch time” and “She is always the first one here and the last one to leave. Super dedicated, driven, and always has a smile on her face. She never complains even though she has one of the hardest jobs at YES. She is always willing to help and looks for solutions to problems.”
Not only has 2020 and the global coronavirus pandemic been tough for HR departments in general, but Stephanie also experienced quite the shake up while living in the epicenter of the earthquake that hit Utah early this year. She has endured a tough and challenging year both personally and professionally and she has done so with patience, resilience, and grace.
We feel that Stephanie went above and beyond the call of duty and worked countless hours without knowledge and praise from the staff to ensure her job was done well and our employees were all paid on time and received all the resources they needed from our HR team. What a great example of commitment and dedication to her job and to YES and we are grateful for all of her efforts this year and look forward to another year of improvements and changes in this ever changing world!
